Saleem Malik’s record-breaking 94-ball century against Sri Lanka in 1987 at Faisalabad, Pakistan’s fastest-ever World Cup century by a batter, was broken by Fakhar.
Fakhar also surpassed Imran Nazir’s record for the most sixes a Pakistani player had in a World Cup innings. During his 160 against Zimbabwe off 121 balls, Nazir had smashed eight sixes. Nazir is the third-fastest Pakistani batsman to reach a century in the World Cup with 95 balls against Zimbabwe in Kingston in 2007.
